This is ruining my nails!

No. Modelling with gel, whether thick or liquid as a liquid builder, will not damage your nails. A good nail designer will only remove the oily and shiny layer of the nail so that the gel can adhere. If your nail is paper-thin and sensitive after the modelling has been removed, then the work was done poorly and the natural nail was filed too much.

Do my nails need a break?

I also often hear that my nails need to breathe. The nail is made of dead material that neither gets better nor worse when it is in the fresh air. So the answer here is no. If the nails are well-crafted, your natural nails will not suffer. And you can wear gel nails without taking a break.

That is unfortunately true. In Germany, there is no training to become a nail designer or minimum requirements. It is up to each individual nail designer to train, educate themselves and acquire the necessary knowledge. In addition to time, this also means investing money in your own training. Nothing lasts for me anyway
