What if things don't go as planned?
Did you accidentally bump into something and then hear that cracking sound?
An absolute nightmare for anyone with long fingernails.
We are talking about a nail bed fracture. Certainly one of the most painful experiences.
But what do I do if it does happen to me?
01
Disinfect
Even if it burns, disinfect the wound carefully.
02
Stabilize
It is best to stabilize the fracture with the adhesive side of the plaster!
03
shortening
Carefully trim the free end of the nail as far as possible.
04
Off to the HandWerkstatt
As soon as possible to your workshop. Here I can professionally remove the modeling.
Liftings
Small material detachments at the edges of the modeling. You notice it especially when you run your hands through your hair.
Where do lifts come from?
There are a number of reasons that reduce the adhesion of the modeling to the natural nail. A professional nail studio takes the condition of your nails into account. Finds the perfect product combination to optimize the durability of the modeling. Life in all its facets should be taken into account in the optimal product selection. Because it makes a difference whether the modeling has to withstand everyday office life or is constantly confronted with disinfectants and cleaning agents in medical professions.

But are lifts even a problem?
First of all, they don't look good. But they can become one. If you get caught on something and tear the modeling off, it will damage your nail. In the best case, you will only destroy the top layers of your nail. In the worst case, the whole nail. That's why a good nail studio should always give you a guarantee period on your own modeling and rebalancings/refills. Of course, this only applies if the damage is not intentional.
If your follow-up appointment is soon, protecting the nail with tape is sufficient. Please do not use superglue. This can damage your modeling, cause irritation and make rebalancing/refilling much more difficult.
Greene
This is not a type of verdigris as is often assumed, but a bacterial infection that can form between the natural nail and the plastic layer. Often in combination with mold.
It occurs particularly when working unhygienically, but also when cavities appear between the model and the natural nail. The bacteria thrive in moisture and warmth.
But excessive roughening or contact with acids can also encourage infestation.
Your nail salon can get a minor infestation under control. More serious cases should be treated by a doctor.
Nail removal (Onycholysis
